I love #Mastodon so much. Last night I posted an #introduction on a whim, just to say hello.
I expected to be ignored just like I have been so many times on #twitter (refuse to call the #birdsite "X", ugh).
I woke up to numerous #boost notifications and new followers. Wow.
A place to actually connect.

I am sure you'll find interesting people here. 
I only hope that you won't get upset by the many people here being very critical about AI. Many have very good arguments, but you know anyway for sure much more about the issue than me.
Bringing more women/diversity in ... any (!) field is definitely a good task. Especially for important technologies that are currently handled by a very narrow demographic but have the potential to have large impact on our society.
On a general note, I love it here, but i also have to admit that some replies feel sometimes... harsh. Maybe it is because people perceive others with different opinions easily as anonymous enemies. (I don't have other social media to compare, so it might be just the way some people discuss online).
The harrassment by fascist trolls is definitely quite well covered by the thousands of hardworking volunteer mods (on most instances, at least).
