NiléaneIf you are in the EU, the newest beta of iOS 17.4 has the alternative default browser picker when you first open Safari.
Here’s what it looked like on my French iPhone:
A few things to note:
• I’m not able to reinvoke the picker. It’s only presented to you when you first open Safari after updating to iOS 17.4
• The list of browsers to pick from is different for every EU member state.
• The order is random.
• Although Safari is presented as one of the options in the randomized list, tapping “Not Now” will effectively just make it the default.

Jeroen@nileane @viticci does this also open the chosen browser whenever we use “Search Web”? I’m asking this because I’ve noticed that right now it simply opens Safari.

@nickfoster Aah, somehow I thought it was in alphabetical order, but that's right, it could've been too easy to override 😅
@kkolakowski I thought that at first too, especially because Brave is at the top. And then I remembered that I heard it has to be randomized

Calum@Chancerubbage @nileane @viticci Not sure why Chrome would’ve worked any different, as until now, Chrome has had to use the same rendering engine on iOS as Safari. But yes, Mozilla have been working on a version of Gecko for iOS for the past year, in anticipation of Apple's recent announcement. https://www.theregister.com/2023/02/07/mozilla_google_apple_webkit/
