I prefer _____ life?
@sebwhatever @actuallyautistic
I live in a quiet suburb, sufficiently far away from the busiest roads, rail & tram lines, but close enough to use the excellent public transport to access museums, galleries etc in the city. OTOH, I love to visit country towns, and natural places - national parks, beaches etc, but would go stir crazy if I lived in a more remote location. AuADHD.
@sebwhatever
I live in a 1956 Ford bus that I converted into a home. (See my profile banner image). Hence my selection of “other” 🙃
@sebwhatever A desire to "simplify" (spoiler: bus living is NOT so simple)
To have a space literally built to suit my weirdness (success there)
Wanted a home but not a house. Wanted permanence without feeling stuck
There's a lot I love about it & a lot that's challenging
If you want a small tour, you can check out this time stamp in a long-ass interview of me: (Please note I had no hand in the thumbnail text. Makes me uncomfortable 🙃):
@sebwhatever I’m torn between #country and #suburban life. I far prefer the pace of country living, the relative calm, friendlier neighbors, etc. But it can suffer from a social and cultural perspective, which would drive me back to suburban. The latter also tends to have better internet access 🤣
@sebwhatever @actuallyautistic the quietude of the country, but the amenities & culture of the city.
I live on the edge of the suburbs of a small city. Or I did. They keep building housing on green belt land. And without adding the infrastructure to support all the extra people. Fortunately a large chunk of the countryside around us sits over mines, which we yld coat too much to build on safely.
