I think I now own the coolest wall clock I could imagine haha. Leaving it in its box till I move in a couple weeks. After I get settled I’ll decide where to put it. Not quite #retrocomputing but I think it counts. πŸ˜€

EDIT:
Wow this POST exploded! :D As some other have asked where to get this, someone else in the thread also posted this. But here is where to get one. Thanks all!

They also have an Amiga version if that's more your speed.

Windows 3.1 desktop large wall clock

@kiteless :o :o :o :o :o IS THIS CUSTOM OR CAN I ORDER ONE SOMEWHERE
@kiteless Coolest thing I've seen all month! Now I really want to make something like this so bad lol.
@kiteless Every time I see an old Windows screenshot, I realise how good and simple that UI design was.
@kiteless Wake me when there's one for Commodore GEOS.

@kiteless https://retrofied.uk/collections/gifts-and-gadgets/products/acorn-archimedes-risc-os-large-wall-clock ooh, a RISC OS version too

and oh no, a window raised just over the corner of the clock to forever make you itchy

Acorn Archimedes RISC OS large wall clock

@kiteless ooooh they have it in sweeping mechanism as well

@kiteless

I have the RISC OS version and it's on the wall in the Lab/Workshop/Office.

I opted for the silent mechanism and it really is quiet πŸ™‚

@kiteless *LOVE* the Amiga one... I definitely don't need it but I'm still seriously considering ordering 🀩
@kiteless Filed under β€œImmediate impulse buy”. Thanks a lot. πŸ™„πŸ˜Š

@kiteless Oh, that is just cruel! How could you do that to me?! I love Windows 3.1, but I also want the Amiga Workbench clock! I CAN'T DECIDE!

#Retro #Win311 #Commodore #Amiga

@dfx @kiteless Yeah a little expensive to get both just because. I'd probably go with the Amiga one but that's mostly because I like the colors better.
@kiteless This is amazing! It will complement my personal website perfectly.
@dHeinemann @kiteless Awesome webdesign! I love it!
@dHeinemann @kiteless This is fantastic. TIL about `border-image-source`. Love this!

@mroach Thanks!

Yeah, I only discovered it when I moved my blog to Bear Blog recently. Pretty useful!

I had a similar theme prior to that, but I positioned the buttons using some janky nested `div`s. This solution is much more elegant, but not quite as flexible.

Here are the old themes:

My website has had several themes over the years. This page catalogues them.

Damn that Program Manager layout is gorgeous.

I wonder how many people aside from me tried to click on the controls in the menubar ;D

@kiteless I bought a clock mechanism from Amazon and made one out of an old 40GB hard drive. πŸ€“
@kiteless ha, cool! I remember using delphi in school to make a copy of that, must've been around '98 or '99.
@kiteless Would love xclock + motif desktop for this. They have also Acorn Archimedes, but nothing Unixy πŸ˜₯
