Done with my first semester of lectures

My favorite moment: students play with the stand-up spinning top 😍 much like nobel laureates Wolfgang Pauli and Niels Bohr (the left image is actually not staged!)

Dont forget: physics and engineering is about curiosity and fun. Youre never too old to just play around with physics toys.

Teaching experimental physics was great fun! Students often stayed after lecture to play around with our equipment. 😂

@andreas_jechow a related fascinating thing:
a #Gömböc is a body which uprights itself and has only a single stable point of equilibrium.
Nature evolved this shape too, e.g. in the shells of Turtles, which helps them to get back on their feet in case they're flipped:

@andreas_jechow I love this approach, and tried to follow a similar path during my own career. My communication of physics is all now within the context of my local u3a branch and the occasional primary school visit - but the spirit of the endeavour lives on â˜ș.
