I received the most "old Norwegian grandmother' piece of advice for darning socks today, since my hands start to shake trying to hold a darning egg in place - try using a pestle instead.

Who has a pestle just lying around these days?

I mean, I have two but that's besides the point.

@consumablejoy I literally could not darn, it was just painful and frustrating. But with the pestle it's a smaller working area but I can brace it against my belly and only hold it lightly.

@thecozydh I guess I meant it was the best because you said it was Norwegian grandmother advice AND you have two pestles. Glad it is working better than the darning egg.
