👏🏻👏🏻Politico: #Ohio Sen. #SherrodBrown raised $6.6 million in the last three months — a huge sum which will be critical in his challenging reelection campaign.
2/ Watch my Debbie Downers tell me that Brown is just *saying* he raised a ton of money to pander to voters. 🙄
@GottaLaff
I must say, after the nonsense on the Hell Site, I block a lot more.
I don't expect people to agree with me on everything, but if they start pissing on parade I just don't have the patience for it anymore. I am old, achy and cranky these days...

@MichelleRNCHPN @GottaLaff

Hard agree.

I teach this as a basic principle in climate communication: Doomism is the new Denialism.

Why? Because denialism told you that action is pointless because there isn't a problem while doomism tells you that action is pointless because all is lost anyway. The "action is pointless" is the common denominator - and very often the point.

Republicans and Russians go heavy on a messaging strategy to amplify "futility feelings".

@Npars01 @MichelleRNCHPN @GottaLaff

A #MastoFriend of mine, I believe it was @pcsoblahdeehell, said to me that he always considers people shouting "all is lost" to be false flag accounts or deluded to the point of being as bad as them.

(or something along those lines; I'm quoting from memory)

@SuneAuken @Npars01 @MichelleRNCHPN @GottaLaff - Oof no, I didn't say that. I can't recall the context of what I might have said, if I said anything at all. In certain circumstances, I would agree, it would be logical to expect the phenomenon of an "agent démotivateur" - so to speak, the opposite of the more conventional "agent provocateur". To sap the energy & morale of people of better faith. The Lord Hawhaw type, only posing as "one of us". I can't point at any current case, however.

@pcsoblahdeehell @Npars01 @MichelleRNCHPN @GottaLaff

Well, I remembered something sensible and attributed it to you somehow. Must mean that I take you to be sensible.

Beyond that, I'm sorry for the misattribution.

@SuneAuken @Npars01 @MichelleRNCHPN @GottaLaff - I can't recall what I may have said, sensible or otherwise!
@GottaLaff like senator tester in montana, senator brown has huge public support in a red state.
@peterpohlenz Yep. Let’s hope he wins.

@peterpohlenz @GottaLaff
And unlike Senator Manchin and Senator Sinema, they're still pretty reliable Democrats.

(But aggravating though Manchin is for pandering to coal, and his 50th vote games, he delivers committee assignment votes and a lot of lower profile Democratic votes, in a very conservative state, so good for him. Sinema, on the other hand, plays 50th vote games in a swing state.)

@GottaLaff
I donated to him & I don't live there...
I donate to all of the good ones!
@GottaLaff it drives me so crazy that we keep score for our politicians by how much money they have to bribe the media for exposure.
@WagesOf of course. $$ should be kept out of politics.
@GottaLaff Sherrod Brown is running neck and neck with Frank LaRose, Ohio's atrocious Secy of State. LaRose is well known for attempted voter suppression and has worked tirelessly to defeat popular citizen initiatives on abortion and gerrymandering.
The race should not be this close. We need Brown in the Senate. As a former Ohioan in a blue state I'll be supporting Sherrod Brown from afar. For the sake of democracy I urge others to do the same if they can.

@Barbramon1
Yes I donated to Sherrid!
I don't live there but he's a good one!
@palin Thank you! He's one of the best we have. 🌞
@Barbramon1 Sherrod Brown is an absolute treasure.
@Barbramon1 @GottaLaff love SB. Wish he’d run for president.
@Majorzman @GottaLaff I have thought that too, but he would never agree to it. He is at his best in the Senate, where he always fights on the side of the American people.
@Barbramon1 Yeah he’s stated publically that he has no interest in being Pres but man would he be a good one. I wish Hill had picked someone as hard working and charismatic as him for her running mate.
@Majorzman @Barbramon1 @GottaLaff As he's the only Dem who gets elected in Ohio anymore, I'd rather see him run for governor if anything. Better still, I want him to find some Dem proteges and teach *them* how to win in Ohio.
@samadeleine @Majorzman @GottaLaff If a Dem were elected Ohio governor she/he would be effectively neutered by the GOP legislature. In the past 30+ years Ohio has never had a Dem Senate. In that same time frame Dems controlled the House for only 5 years.
My view is that Ohio Democrats need to increase their numbers in the state legislature. It's a heavy lift, but little can be done if GOP stays in charge.
