@andrewnorthrocks @maxellxlii90 @chopaganda I've always maintained that the entire story was tenuously held together at best which is part of why it worked so well for new tales in universe over the years of narration
@LostReflector @andrewnorthrocks @maxellxlii90 @chopaganda yeah the end of the official GH sequence is... Possum? The ending of the story is not very well articulated
@mrcompletely @LostReflector @andrewnorthrocks @maxellxlii90 @chopaganda I think they only ended it with Possum in the 88 version. McGrupp is the real ending (IMO), and then Divided or Possum could be tacked on I guess? Both 94 versions ended with Divided and I’ve always viewed those as the “definitive” versions.
@Evdude @mrcompletely @andrewnorthrocks @maxellxlii90 @chopaganda but Possum is on the original recording of the thesis, not just tacked on to a live set so I think he did mean it to be there

@LostReflector @Evdude @andrewnorthrocks @maxellxlii90 @chopaganda yep, Possum is the canonical ending to TMWSIY, which is hilarious, since IMO it was clearly just the only other song he had ready and he shoehorned it in, but now here we are

The simplest *and* most accurate way to put it is: Gamehendge is whatever Trey says it is at any given time, and all performances of it with narration are equally Gamehendge.

Looking at it that way dissolves any tension around playing this or that
