@Pagan_Animist @[email protected] I understand enough of history that when we have first hand accounts and other statements direct from the people involved that we don't get to contradict them with what we wish they'd said.

And apparently that's more than some Southern universities know about it...

The trouble for Confederate apologists is that then they have to argue that those they wished to honor lied through their teeth with their repeated claims of dishonorable motives to cover up more reasonable ones.

All evidence points to the Confederates being honest until they lost.
