Esperantist. Collects stamps. Writes stories occasionally (gotta work on that). More to come on the bio.
Last daily sketchbook class. We did people. I did a couple self portraits, because at least I’m not going to say, “do you really think I look like that?”
When did Joe Biden become such a powerful orator? Think he’s too old? Watch the speech.
I’m getting better at watercolors. (This is from today’s Daily Sketchbook class. Despite the name we’re not being encouraged to make it a daily practice.)
More art! I grouted a mosaic that I made last week.
Started a daily sketchbook class today. We were encouraged to use watercolor (and I learned a lot about watercolor in a short time), so I drew my watercolor kit. #art
A new journal milestone! 1,700 days of consecutive journal entries. I last missed a journal entry on April 27, 2019. (And that 1,452? That's days from January 1, 2020 onward.) I could not have done this without Day One!
We had plans. They fell through. It’s the sort of thing that happens from time to time. Sometimes you just have to embrace the chaos and be flexible. We had a good evening nevertheless. Have a good weekend whether your plans work out or not.Seed

Columbus doesn't deserve a day named after him. The mythos created around him to support the holiday ignores history.

Let's remind ourselves of the real reason for the day: white people murdered immigrants.

This is the day when we should remember that immigrants have made fantastic contributions to the US.

I almost forgot that today is "Don't Murder Immigrants Day."

In 1891 the largest lynching in American history occurred. The victims were Italian immigrants. An Italian had been accused of murder in New Orleans. The locals reacted to this by killing a lot of Italians.

It was a bit of an international incident. The Kingdom of Italy was not happy about their citizens and former citizens being murdered.

I have been back to baking challahs since getting back from all my travels. I’ve been doing them for years and they’re really easy for me. Getting back in the habit of posting these is a bit harder. We all should try to make habits of the things we want to do. Maybe this Shabbat you can develop a good habit.
