Especially when someone does it without the person's permission and then also creates a fake video of the person saying "Yes, this is real, I really said that". An awful lot of people will see that and then claim any future retraction is fake and part of a coverup or conspiracy.

We are going to have to build infrastructure to have digitally signed audio/video that includes unfakeable record of location and the device that created it.
