Today I learned that LEGO has a program where you can send them your old LEGO (bricks, pieces, mini-figs, etc). LEGO will then take them in, wash / sterilize them, and donate them to children in need!

They even pay for the shipping for you.

@mdmrn Yes. a great idea from LEGO. kids do not even know they are (refurbished) not new. Doesn't matter give them LEGOS, like a cat 😾😾😽 they will play with the box anyway .... 🤣🤣🤣🤔😁👍

@mdmrn I know... I was not being serious :) But TBH I have handed down bricks to kids in family many many times. For some reason it is hard to part with them.

Seriously, though.

Lego bricks are toys for children to learn and have fun. And, more importantly, non-biodegradable pieces of plastic that, because of the amount of plastic entering the environment, when the children of today become tomorrow's adults, will wish that the adults of today hadn't bought them so much plastic stuff.
