What I do when I feel like my life is out of control:
1.) Clear %TEMP%
2.) Clear C:\Windows\Temp
3.) Run cleanmgr.exe
4.) Run patchmypc.exe
5.) Delete stuff in %APPDATA% I don't have anymore

6) look at the WinSxS directory and decide your sanity is too precious to even consider cleaning it up

@SwiftOnSecurity We had a guy who if doing a desk visit would always defrag the hard drive.

@SwiftOnSecurity there is really nothing like deleting the node_modules directory and package-lock.json. It's breathtaking. I highly suggest you try it.
