Saw this kid speedcubing on the bus… they were like 8 or 9. They were pretty good actually
Just speedcubing in public like it's totally normal
I think most millennials don't realize that there have been significant advancements in cube technology since you were a kid. Cubes look different now. And it's specifically to make speedcubing easier
Generation Z wants to cube as fast as possible
@mcc we gleamed so they could speed
@mcc zoomers for a reason, and that reason is entirely how effortlessly their facets glide and rotate around
@mcc they don't merely rotate apples in their head, they're spinning and solving multicolored 3d cubes
@mcc It was all that flossing they did. It set them up for speed cubeing.
@mcc A friend’s kid does blind speed cubeing. It blows my mind.
@mcc the faster they cube, the less they cube.
@mcc experienced this in person last night, can confirm.
@mcc as someone who only slowcubes even the regular rubik's cubes feel very slippery now.
@mcc I love my cube so much. I’m definitely not speedy at all but I’m chuffed to get under 90 most of the time. It’s a real good anxiety thing to have something I know I can achieve quickly
@mcc little things like this fill me with such joy
@mcc omg this reminds me of a delightful experience: A kid (maybe 12?) saw my Let’s Encrypt hoodie, gasped, ran over, and asked me to shuffle their cube for them. Just the purest and most wholesome thing.
