I've been giving #GrayJay a shot for a while now and contrary to my expectations it IS filling the gap left by #YouTubeVanced (RIP). It's all that and more. It doesn't have #sponsorblock but it does do a lot of more interesting things. My only problem with it honestly is that it's really unstable. I don't mind it taking a while to refresh but it crashes to often. When it gets stable I'll actually throw some money at it.

@regomodo It's become my default YouTube app. (Though I still have OG, and Vanced installed) I even went and changed it to handle some URLs. It crashes regularly but not frequently. I've been updating it but I haven't noticed any sponsorblock skipping. I'll have to check if there's a setting for it.

@wolfkin Sources->Youtube then scroll down to the sponsorblock settings. its not enabled by y default. The manual setting is quite subtle in operation.

@wolfkin i think #youtube has decided ive done something suspicious right after the update. it was happy enough before. im getting a prompt to complete a captcha but none is shown. i think because #grayjay cant update my yt subs, it doesn't update my #odysee, #kick or #peertube subs and my sub feed is blank.
