Annual meeting of the Summer Tires Club
@MeanwhileinCanada Reminds me of when I lived in North Dakota, and every spring as the snow melted we'd have the annual blossoming of abandoned cars in the Highway 83 median.

@MeanwhileinCanada

I'm so sorry. One major reason I live in the south: our weather is perfect. Praying for ya'll.

Also, I'm a huge fan of maple syrup!

@MeanwhileinCanada this is why winter tires are mandatory in Germany.
@kkarhan @MeanwhileinCanada they’re mandatory in most or all provinces in Canada (as far as I know). It doesn’t matter - stupid people are always going to stupid.
@kkarhan @MeanwhileinCanada
Yes but even with winter tyres, the first day with snow there is always somebody that tries to drive the same manner with snow as without and ends up with high-speed parking at the side of trunk roads.

@red_rooster @MeanwhileinCanada THIS is why I think "driving in snow" should be mandatory for driving licenses...

So people get to learn to drive properly...

@MeanwhileinCanada And your banner photo? "Advancing Girl Guides"...yes, I'll buy your cookies. All of them.
@MeanwhileinCanada being from Wisconsin, I m so happy I still get about 80% of the jokes on this account.

@MeanwhileinCanada

In Finland, the meme is "winter caught the drivers by surprise". Every year.

("Talvi yllätti autoilijat.")

@MeanwhileinCanada here in Colorado we also have to worry about delivery trucks with summer tires.

As if dealing with passenger cars wasn't bad enough!

@notthatdelta @MeanwhileinCanada and the GPS that takes him on impossible routes there
@JWneural @MeanwhileinCanada our neighborhood is actually pretty decent in terms of GPS coverage, but there are a LOT of places nearby where GPS will get you very lost and very stuck.
@MeanwhileinCanada Looks like here in Manitoba!! Why people don't use winter tires is beyond me!!

@MeanwhileinCanada

"But they're supposed to be Mud and Snow rated!!"

"But they've got 35,000 miles on them!!"

@MeanwhileinCanada
Coming up soon in this region!
@MeanwhileinCanada I lived in New Hampshire for 35 years and all I needed was a Subaru
@MeanwhileinCanada More so the people who don't know how to drive club.
@MeanwhileinCanada I guess these are the extra special skillet members?
@MeanwhileinCanada Well in Québec the deadline is December 1st, so they get a pass.
@MeanwhileinCanada First point of order: It was a Goodyear for our club!
@MeanwhileinCanada it’s also the picture of the annual meeting of the overconfident drivers who belive their winter tires will save them from any accident automagically!
