I wish SQL had a "strict" mode.

No joining without indices, no implicit type conversions, all statements prepared at launch so you can't have arbitrary injection…

@samir @wolframkriesing 🙋🏽‍♂️ there is indeed a strict mode in SQL.. Is it what you wish for, though?

@m3co @wolframkriesing I am 100% unsurprised that MySQL has a strict mode to do the absolute bare minimum in safety.

I think the sentiment is very good, to be honest, but I want it turned up to 11.

@samir @wolframkriesing You have my keyboard!!!

@m3co @wolframkriesing Nonsense, this keyboard is mine! *shifty eyes*

(Honestly, I’m not sure what you mean, unless this conversation took a hard left turn and we’re talking about the ZSA Moonlander now. I would be very fine with that.)

@samir @wolframkriesing Should have been an analogy to lord of the rings, where they're saying: you have my axe, you have my sword and so on. It means I agree and support your opinion 😁
