The Apple TV Siri Remote, But Gooderer

@tvaziri

Make the play/pause button square so it feels different.

@tvaziri I definitely see the intent. I feel it needs another button and the bottoms ones can be arranged in a grid. Volume up/down on the left and the mute and additional button on the right.

I’m just not sure what that other button would be.

@waynedixon @tvaziri Make the extra button a programmable “action button” that the user can assign something to (subtitles on/off, audio dynamic range toggle, etc.).

Bonus points if you can teach it an IR command from an existing remote.

@tvaziri What would it take to make it happen? Kickstarter?

@tvaziri 100% agree on slo-mo. Why don’t we have that and frame by frame? Seriously?

The other ones are good points, but if they released an identical remote to the current one only it somehow turned on a software feature to enable slo-mo, I would buy it.

@tvaziri Brilliant design. I hope someone in Cupertino sees this

@tvaziri One step closer!

A feature you didn’t mention that I’d personally like to see is backlighting. I know some won’t like that, but no reason they couldn’t add a setting somewhere to let those who don’t want it turn it off.

@tvaziri I like it. I’d have to try, it but my gut says the central, narrow volume and mute may be somewhat awkward to operate one-handed unless you are not showing a non-slip surface on the back. I could be wrong.
