I am really really stuffed. Instead of getting fast food out, we decided to come home and eat at the local mexican place. I got two tamales, rice and beans. Came home with one tamale because I forgot how filling it all is. Excellent as always to say the least.
@blindbat84 Tamales are so good. Community college I used to work at did tamale-making classes around Christmas every year. During COVID they changed it up and did meal kits with all the ingredients to make your own along with videos and a Zoom session for questions. It was a ton of work, but really enjoyed the experience.
@jyarbrough I've never made them but really learned to love them.
@blindbat84 They were one of those things that grew on me as I got older. You'd think, growing up in Texas, that I'd always have liked them but not so much.
@jyarbrough I was that idiot kid that thought a tamale was some kind of sausage... thanks Speedy Gonzales cartoons and how they were depicted, and when I tried it I didn't realize you don't eat the husk. *facepalm* As an adult I tried them again and found they were amazing... I lament my younger self and their idiocy.
@blindbat84 I shouldn't, but... 😂😂😂
@jyarbrough I'm just sad I can't get the frozen ones I like, Delimex has some that aren't half bad, husks and all, but can't get them as Wal-Mart doesn't sell them anymore. They were decent for a quick little snack too.
@blindbat84 Do y'all have Costco? I've bought really good bags of them there in the past.
@jyarbrough Not around here, we have Sam's Club, but I'll keep that in mind!
