One of my side projects is running @hackshackers (with a bunch of other folks: @rosieryan, @antmandan, @thom and other volunteers).

It's a monthly meetup looking at the intersection of technology and storytelling with a bit of a focus on media/journalism.

We have our next meetup next week and you should come along if you're into that kind of thing. We're going to be hearing about the way film and television distribution is changing due to streaming tech.

Quants & Quills

A not-for-profit, volunteer run organisation based in Brisbane, Australia exploring the future of media by bringing together technologists and storytellers.

I've been tinkering over the past few nights with getting a better (i.e. one that actually exists) listing page for all our past @hackshackers events up on the website.

I have a whole other blog post to write about this. I've managed to cobble together a fairly usable content management system using Netlify, Cloudflare, Airtable and a custom SvelteKit site. It's a wild concoction, to be sure, but it's free!

@WeAreBrisbane @hackshackers what ever happened to the talk about AI?
@geekgirl @WeAreBrisbane the presenter had (possibly) Covid. We’ll have him early next year.
