Holy crap “Project Hail Mary” is a good book. Wow, that was glorious. Thank you.
@shanselman Did you read it or did you listen to it? The audiobook version is awesome.
@hazenet I read the first half, and then I was doing a long drive and I finished it on the audiobook, now I’m gonna go back and do the audiobook

@shanselman And there’s a movie in pipeline with Ryan Gosling as lead actor 🤓

@kkolakowski @shanselman what! No way! That’s awesome. Gosling nailed the humor in the Nice Guys, I am fascinated to see how he plays this one.
@shanselman I thought the Martian was the best Andy could come up with... I was so wrong
@shanselman Thanks for the recommendation. I just read the abstract of it and it sounds great. Ordered 🙂!
@shanselman yessss! Currently listening to Ray Porters amazing voice+intonation and his Rocky voice is amaze amaze amaze!
@shanselman just finished it myself, didn't grab me quite as much as The Martian but still really enjoyed it
@shanselman If you liked 'Hail Mary', 'Delta-V' and 'Critical Mass' by Daniel Suarez might interest you too.
@shanselman Definitely! one of the best! top 5 on my list, along with The Martian, Seveneves, Ready Player One, Ender's Game and Daemon by Daniel Suarez
@shanselman This will be my next read, if the library allows it (I have competition)
@shanselman if possible, give it to a 12 year old! 😀😀😀 Mine has read it 8 times.

@shanselman I think it has too many things revealed in flashback to be considered a good book. It's a good story, but I think not written optimally.

I liked many of his other books, and I think this one would have benefitted from a more direct chronology.

@shanselman he makes something totally implausible seem possible. I thought the intro was too similar to the Martian but you just get lost in the story.
@shanselman yeah I absolutely loved this book. The Martian was great but Hail Mary brought tears to my eyes. I read it, thought about it for awhile, then read it again a few weeks later.
@shanselman the audio version of this book is wonderful!
