@thomas_lafferty @anneapplebaum The only difference between "plotting" and "planning" is whether their intended action is against current law. Intending to change the laws is "merely political", and enforcement agencies can only enforce the laws as written, not the spirit of democracy.

A point worth keeping in mind, maybe. The coordinated attack on US democracy doesn't particularly depend on one specific presidential nominee. Probably not on one specific term, either.

I'm so fucking tired of the endless "Trump and his cronies do horrible things in plain sight while anyone with functioning gray matter complains -> Trump's plans come to at least partial fruition -> Everyone is verklempt and says, 'HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED'" cycle that I would rather stop partaking in general society. I'm sure this is part of their plan but frankly I only have so much time left and well... it's getting more and more difficult to give a shit. We do this to ourselves.
