'The Jewish “Question.” The Negro “Problem.” The Trans “Issue.” Maybe people existing shouldn't be a question, issue, or problem that's up for debate. If you're framing people’s humanity and existence as some kind of both sides debate you're probably not a good person.' #racism #abpoli

@ned

Insane people always have a bogeyman to blame.

It is never their fault.

@ned But what about the Landlord Question?
@moffintosh @ned I hold some issue with the way some (I reiterate, not all) people criticize the economic environments of Western nations. I feel there's some overlap in the rhetoric used by them and by anti-Semites. A good example is how many Trump fans will cite pro-globalisation evonomists, wealthy "elites" and large corporations as enemies of the general population. It's important to recognize that these criticisms don't exist in a vacuum. They mutate when in contact with other ideas.
@ned Cis white men are so fragile that they need to denigrate “others” to feel strong.
@ned ok, I think this holds water in the racism context, but I can't get on board with this on other contexts. What if the belief of a certain group of people actively harms humanity as a whole? For example, what if a certain set of people believe viruses don't exist?
@kaito02 That's an ideological threat, and is in no way the same as a people group.
@ned
And can you say this to the Ukrainian patriots who have been hammering Donbass from 2014 to today? Or your president, who sends them weapons for this? There isn't, right?
@za4em @ned Congratulations, you’re the first person I have blocked on Mastodon.
