Got a good sleep last night. I suffer from chronic insomnia and take prescription medication for it. If I didn't I'd stay awake for 3 days then crash. Not sure what happened last night. Insomnia is maddening. I can't fall asleep but I'm not awake enough to do anything useful done.
@grumpygamer Are you monitoring your sleep with any tech? I have this problem, and getting some data helped me make it better (not great, but better).
@johncarney I just take drugs. Works 90% of the time. Never been a believer in tech to solve problems. It mostly causes problems.
@grumpygamer fair enough. It used the tech figure out when i was sleeping and tried to lean into those times. The tech didn’t help me sleep better it just helped me understand my body better.
@johncarney Wearing a watch while I sleep also drives me crazy, My problem is I can't sleep, so sleep monitoring doesn't help. It's not like some days I sleep and others I can't. I won't ever go to sleep without medication, then I sleep fine.
@grumpygamer i can believe that's really tough. Wish you good luck having more good nights
@grumpygamer I used to have it really badly. Found leaving bed and sleeping somewhere else would work sometimes. Often just slept on the bedroom floor wrapped in a duvet.
@grumpygamer I hear you. Had it all my life. And lately I fall asleep fine but wake up at 3 am and can't go back to sleep. It's Hell.

@maritzac @grumpygamer

the main character of A Pure Formality is like that.

@oblomov @grumpygamer I address sleep deprivation, insomnia and other sleep problems in my graphic novel Power Nap
@maritzac @grumpygamer
big fan of Power Nap, didn't know it was autobiographic!

@grumpygamer

I am neither a medic nor have experience in insomnia (except for the song being popular decades ago).

Have you tried out melatonin, say half an hour before heading to bed?

@grumpygamer Try not to eat wheat flour for at least 1 month. You may feel better after the first 20 days.
