At least with @Tusky you can switch off the boosts.

@vivaristic That's good to know, thank you - if it differs from the same instruction on the web app? That allows one to hide future boosts (in which I am generally interested), rather than toggle the past ones to see original content only. Some people have been deterred from boosting (or boosting off-topic) for lack of this feature.
