β€œThe sight of Elon Musk charging towards Wikipedia with his trademark guile and delicacy was so predictable that it was almost relaxing. He saw a collective resource that people prized and he wanted to hurt it.”

Why is Elon Musk attacking Wikipedia? Because its very existence offends him

The X owner has no time for a democratic experiment dedicated to knowledge. He would rather yell puerile β€˜jokes’ into the ether, writes Zoe Williams

@JamesGleick

He wants a monopoly on the information the public, his workers and customers, receive.

It has to be oligarch friendly.

He's a power/control freak hence 'working from home is immoral'.

etc etc

@JamesGleick After a depressing meeting with accounting he probably googled "websites that are not turning a loss", Wikipedia came up and he got jealous.
@JamesGleick just donated to Wikipedia. Non mais ! 😊

Well, that's what Elonivsky Mushovite did with Twitter... Just cause it pissed him off.

So, cue the dread music that foreshadows his next $46B tantrum when he buys Wikipedia.

@JamesGleick I didn't know about this. I will IMMEDIATELY send $$ (Canadian, yes, but, really, it's still money, right? Right?) to #Wikipedia
@JamesGleick Total aside, but 15 years ago some friends and I dreamed up an idea for a site called "Dickipedia" that was just a compendium of assholes with citations. If that existed today, Musk would be on page 1.
