Heads up, folks. The CDC ended its contract with Biobot and has begun using an Alphabet company, Verily.

Verily also doesn't track data for the District of Columbia--you know, that little place that our country is governed from. The closest you can get is Hagerstown, MD, a very distant suburb of DC. Whereas Biobot provided data on the District itself and several surrounding suburbs. "Convenient" given the recent and strong push for RTO for Federal employees.

Surprised more people aren't discussing this. Wastewater levels has been our last reliable measure of relative COVID risk. That's now being eroded further.

The new tracking site is here: https://data.wastewaterscan.org/tracker

WastewaterSCAN Dashboard

WastewaterSCAN Data Dashboard tracks infectious diseases across the US via wastewater surveillance.

@elight folks in DC ARE discussing this, though. Just because you aren't seeing it doesn't mean they aren't

@computerpaws Sorry to be pedantic. I did not say no one is discussing it.

Can you point me to conversations?

@elight I'm not familiar with the wastewaterscan site, but CDC has recent data for DC here https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#wastewater-surveillance and the neighboring Montgomery County data are here: https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/covid19/data/wastewater-surveillance.html

@elight Aw man, and it only has two sites in Pennsylvania! Biobot had 11 counties in PA. https://biobot.io/data/
