I still want someone to sell a recreation of the Mr. Boogedy Pop-up Book.

I still want someone to sell a recreation of the Mr. Boogedy Pop-up Book.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Finally making my way home after visiting with friends who saw the Dr. Caligari screening with me at the Music Box.
Very fun live score, though they tried to do an audience participation bit that didn't quite carry.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
In low power mode, at the moment, but still gotta get in tonight's movie for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror.
Rewatching Piranha (1978) in anticipation of seeing a 35mm print of the sequel later this month.
Tonite's logline:
Def-Con 4 (1985)
THE LAST DEFENSE. THE LAST HOPE. THE BATTLE FOR THE FUTURE OF THE WORLD HAS BEGUN.
Two men and a woman circle the globe in a satellite armed with a nuclear device. The third world war breaks out, and a few months later the satellite crashes. They survive the crash but one man gets killed by survivors and the other man gets caught. The woman stays by the remains of the the satellite but is soon caught by evil punks who have taken power.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
I'm pretty stoked for when I get home from work.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
So I don't make a habit of posting my Letterboxd reviews because I tend to be of the opinion that if you'd want to read them, you'd go follow me there.
But this ding dang movie, y'all.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Love | Like | Indifferent | Dislike Canadian Scifi Horror Go! What an opening mind fuck. Not scary, just mentally and emotionally devastating. Cold War dry, dark humor. A clever attempt to show a world ending nuclear war on a budget. The, "its all happening down there and we're stuck up here." A little harrowing almost, if you look past some of the acting. I was interested & even a little excited excited by the time re-entry occurs. Things really went downhill fast on Earth, huh? This only really is funny when you see it. But I litterally paused the movie
I was gonna roll the dice on picking another Scifi Horror as a BOO-nus 👻 Watch tonight but after riding so high with Def-Con 4, I really don't want to risk a dud.
So I'm hedging with a sure fire hit.
It's Event Horizon, baby!
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Tonight's film has been one I've regularly put off because I never quite felt in the right mood for the premise. I decided to force my hand and scheduled it for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror this year because I know it is gonna be worth it.
Now watching:
Green Room (2015)
Tonight is the second week of Fright in the Brites 🍺, where I set up a projector in the brewery for a horror movie.
Doing a classic 80s slasher that people will hopefully find...drilling.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Getting set up for Fright in the Brites!

Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
*Throws toot directly at your screen*
"This ought to be quirky and fun but it's only in 2D, oooOOOooo!"
Time for Friday The 13th Part III (1982)
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Yes, I did take off work today (citing a religious holiday) to just lay around watching Jason flicks.
LET ME HAVE THIS!
Anyway:
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)
OR
The one where I shudder everytime someone utters the phrase "dead fuck".
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Jason Lives Or The One Where Jason Gets a James Bond opening.
Friday the 13th: Jason Lives (1986)
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
A little bit of a brief break plus I also have to start considering weather conditions to try and make the showing of Srigala tonight. Seems there will be quite a bit of rain. My main means of conveyance atm is a pair of Vans with epoxy over the sections of rubber sole that were wearing thin. Not exactly all weather tires.
May have to punt on that viewing.
In the meantime The Feast of St. Jason Of Voorhees will resume shortly.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
And we're back with our next entry, Jason vs *cough* Carrie.
I mean Friday the 13th: The New Blood (1988)
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
The one that no one really loves but really the one that everyone ought to love, even if just a little.
Friday the 13th: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
I said this was a High Holiday but it's also a "High" holiday.
I'm floating like this accursed graduation boat.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
I do think I'm gonna bow out of going to see Srigala. I hate to be passing on it but I am simply not up for an outing atm.
Going to take a break and kinda see what I want to do for the rest of the night.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Might be calling some auidble's on today's selection for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror.
I had the first four NoES films scheduled but I need some kind of change of pace.
Updates when I actually figure out what that means.
Funny thing that mental health.
Spend the whole got dang year psyching myself up for Burd's #31NightsOfHorror only to spend the weekend in a bit of a spiral and I'm just gonna call it a wash again today.
Retry tomorrow, I guess. 😮💨
Back in the saddle. Unplanned breaks are prone to happen. Especially when everything else seems extra particularly on fire.
Starting back up with a first time watch that has me a little embarrassed. I've never seen the original or the remake before so I'm rectifying that partially tonight.
Now watching:
Ju-on: The Grudge (2002)
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Hey. How about a BOO-nus 👻 Watch?
No?
TOO SLOW!
It's time for:
Slotherhouse (2023)
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
I'm making up some lost yardage here tonight.
Let's throw on another BOO-nus 👻 Watch.
A movie that completely bounced off me on first watch but that I start to fall deeper and deeper in love with on each return.
Hell House LLC (2015)
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
The mini-theme for tonight's Burd's #31NightsOfHorror double feature is 'Cronenberg The Younger'.
Because the weird flesh apple doesn't fall far from the knotted gnarly body horror tree.
One of the only times I ever won a give-away, I got this bluray. I'm not sure if I ever would have bought it myself but I am glad to own it. Especially uncut.
Now watching:
Possessor (2020)
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Tonight's mini-theme:
'Car-nal Car-nage'
A double feature of Crash and Titane.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Kicking off 'Car-nal Car-nage' with a little Cronenberg the Elder.
Been sitting on this Criterion for a hot second because I saved my first time watch specifically for tonight's double feature.
Let's fuck....er...I mean...
Let's *shift* into high gear.
David Cronenberg's Crash (1996)
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
My, my, my. Crash is quite the ride.
Next up for 'Car-nal Car-nage' is a film I've been excited to rewatch.
Julia Ducurnau, I wish you a long future of bringing vividly wild images to the screen.
Now watching:
Titane (2021)
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
I got a little BOO-nus 👻 Watch up my sleave.
I think this pick tweeks tonight's double feature into, if I may say so myself, a truly inspired, if quirky, triple feature.
It's Death Race 2000, baby!
Staring "a dear friend of mine" David Carradine as monster of the road, Frankenstein. Not to mention, one Sly Stalone as 'Machine Gun' Joe Viterbo.
Death Race 2000 (1975)
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Also, I am desperate for a reprint of the bluray or, to dream, a nice 4K. Please, Mr. Wizard.
Something particularly zany tonight for week three of Fright in the Brites:
Two unruly children unearth a horrible intergalactic overlord and make him question his commitment to Hunky Boys.
🍺🍺🍺
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
MY HUNKY BOYS!
It's Psycho Goreman (2020) for tonight's Fright in the Brites!
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Another successful Fright in the Brites! Can't wait for next week's entry.
But now back home and I wanted to do a BOO-nus 👻 Watch but I'm also pretty wiped.
So I'm going to keep it simple, rip a fat bowl and sit down with a true comfort. This film is pure joy to me.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) 💋
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Someday. One day. I will put together the best got dang Columbia outfit. 💭
I just...I just need a lot of things to fall in place first.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Just one more night before I mark another attempt at the full 24 hour run of the Music Box Of Horrors marathon at The Music Box Theatre here in Chicago. Noon to Noon Saturday to Sunday.
I'm giddy.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Because when you hear about a Hong Kong horror film called Devil Fetus, you immediately go find a sketchy dvd of it to import.
At least that's what I did.
Devil Fetus (1983)
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Just a few hours before tackling this year's Music Box Of Horrors 24h Marathon.
Only ever made it all the way through twice in the years I've been attending. Will this be year three?

Que already forming with three hours til start. Wish me luck!
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Don't expect a play by play for each showing (especially post midnight when I get loopy) but I'll have a couple of recaps.
This marathon a more a personal ritual for me than an excuse for social media.
✌️
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
First three films were all fucking bangers.
The Fall of the House of Usher (1928) with a live score was a haunting experience.
I finally saw Burnt Offerings (1976) and sweaty Oliver Reed on crunchy 35mm was the perfect way to experience it.
And Ozone (1994) with a Q & A with star James Black. A Shot on Video darling!!!
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Up next is The Convent (2000) which has maybe my single favorite horror opening of all time. No joke.
And I get to see it on 35mm
The gummies are now fully at the wheel. At this point, I'm just along for the ride.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Seeing a 35mm subtitled print of REC (2007) that was the original festival print as my first viewing is one I'll remember forever.
Eight Eyes (2023) didn't really land for me but I also had a little edible triggered panic attack during the movie which probably factored in.
But next!
Next is watching THE Chicago horror movie, in THE Chicago movie theater on a 35mm print.
It's Candyman, Candyman Candyman Candyman (1992)...
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
I have also reached the point of the marathon where I start to hallucinate people in empty seats near me.
Exciting!
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
The final film of The Music Box Of Horrors. Obsessed with this movie as a child but I have not watched it in 25+ years.
No idea how I'll handle Casper (1995) as a result with total sleep deprivation on play.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Oh this year's full 24 hours was a flippin' cake walk!
But now it's over until next year.
The Music Box Theatre in Chicago is a god damn blessing!
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Had an absolute blast doing the fest but I'm still recovering and going to skip or alter my planned watching for today to instead try playing some spooky games with friends perhaps tonight.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Alright. This is gonna be a mulligan of yesterday's two planned films AND today's selection.
Yesterday's planned double feature was 🎶I'll Melt With You🎶 and that means all things House of Wax (1953 & 2005). First time watch with both.
Then we'll hit up bargain bin, discount slasher, Night School (1981).
Lots to do!
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
All caught up, so on to tonight's originally scheduled feature.
Grab a notebook it's time for:
Night School (1981)
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
Hey, why not. I got time for a BOO-nus 👻 Watch.
So let's keep it simple and pay a little homage to the queen bee.
Halloween (1978)
John Carpenter and Debra Hill were fucking dynamite together.
Burd's #31NightsOfHorror
