Since 2010, the 10 executives who served as CEO of Ford, GM, and Stellantis raked in more than $1 billion in compensation.

Don't tell me these companies can't afford to give auto workers better wages and benefits.

@rbreich
What is the value of a CEO if there are no workers to build the products they sell?
@rbreich and it would be interesting to see if any of that money spent got anything for shareholders. My thesis is that shareholders are also being screwed by these overpaid and often useless drones
@rbreich
You ask me those ceo's should be on the lines producing every vehicle that comes off from beginning to end and should be able to diagnose any problems a customer may have at any time of day no matter what they are doing to be paid that much. Prove me wrong, please!

@rbreich compensation as in bonusses for reached goals or in “hey, we don’t want you here anymore, have some money to f off”? The first deserves the payout, the latter doesn’t.
@rbreich And the damn stock buybacks…😕😡👎

Automakers Hand Billions To Shareholders While Stiffing Workers

The Big Three car companies have authorized $5 billion in stock buybacks over the past year.

@rbreich Fuck them. I am so fucking sick of the rich being leeches on our society and treating us all like peons. It's infuriating.
@rbreich TWW: A truth cannot stand alone, it is always in response to deception. *I agree that the disparity in earnings between labor and management is way out of balance. As a retired shipwright I’ve spent a lifetime under that thumb. When I divide 10B by 13 among 4.3 million auto workers I get 180$ each per year. That’s not enough to solve anything and I know managers won’t work for free. Do better. Peace for All. OWOP
@rbreich The great thing about paying auto workers well is that they can then afford to buy the products they make.
@stealthysail @rbreich I've often wondered why the CEO of Ford never called the CEO of Walmart, and said "Hey, asshole, would you start paying your employees enough to buy one of my vehicles!"
@Sunflores @rbreich It's so true. Higher wages, to some extent, make the economy go around. I learned this in Germany.If you have the cash, you tend to spend it, often on local products.
@Sunflores @rbreich Hahaha very nice! Yes, higher purchasing power of wages is vital. Which is why unions matter, right? Or not?
Also, if we're paid decent wages, we don't have to rely on cheap imports, and can "buy local".

@rbreich

It's actually beyond comprehension, I don't know what else to say... That 90% of the worlds population is enslaved by a handful of people and banks, (with control of 99% of the worlds capital) it's just not sustainable for much longer or is it? My numbers are a thumb-suck perhaps someone here can help me out. 😀
