Don't tell me these companies can't afford to give auto workers better wages and benefits.

@rbreich The great thing about paying auto workers well is that they can then afford to buy the products they make.
@stealthysail @rbreich I've often wondered why the CEO of Ford never called the CEO of Walmart, and said "Hey, asshole, would you start paying your employees enough to buy one of my vehicles!"
@Sunflores @rbreich It's so true. Higher wages, to some extent, make the economy go around. I learned this in Germany.If you have the cash, you tend to spend it, often on local products.
@Sunflores @rbreich Hahaha very nice! Yes, higher purchasing power of wages is vital. Which is why unions matter, right? Or not?
Also, if we're paid decent wages, we don't have to rely on cheap imports, and can "buy local".
