Journey of 1,000 miles and all that. This will be my first Inktober on Mastodon. Hope you enjoy the posts! ✍️💕👍

Kicking it off with Day 1: Dream.

#Inktober #HumanArt #LineaSketch

This one was fun! A smidge of Morticia, a dash of Aracnia, and a pinch of the Queen of Hearts. 🕷️

Day 2: Spiders

#Inktober #HumanArt #LineaSketch

That’s a horse of a different color! 🌈

Day 3: Path

#Inktober #HumanArt #LineaSketch

Time-lapse process for Day 3: Path

#Inktober #LineaSketch

I never did learn to spell! Wut a GOOD BOI!! 🐶

Day 4: Dodge… erm… DOGE!

#Inktober #HumanArt #LineaSketch

“There’s more in my diary than just the map!” 🧭

Day 5: Map

#Inktober #HumanArt #IndianaJones #LineaSketch

This is one of those drawings I could spend days on getting it just so. Really enjoyed creating this one. 🥰🧸⭐️

Day 6: Golden

#Inktober #HumanArt #LineaSketch

Time-lapse process for Day 6: Golden

#Inktober #LineaSketch

I felt like a drip drawing this one, that’s for sure. So much trial and error. 🤷‍♂️🐠

Day 7: Drip

#Inktober #HumanArt #LineaSketch

Warts and all!

Day 8: Toad

#Inktober #HumanArt #LineaSketch

Time-lapse process for Day 8: Toad

#Inktober #LineaSketch

I wish we had bouncy castles when I was a kid! I only got to play in them when the carnival came to town and…. eeew! 😄

Day 9: Bounce

#Inktober #HumanArt #LineaSketch

Time-lapse process for Day 9: Bounce. About 2.5 hours of sketching, inking and coloring reduced to just a minute. 🤣 The coloring part was *much* more fun than the sketching. #Inktober #LineaSketch

Like Mr. Peanut but Mr. Cookie. 🧐 - Mr. Techbro Jerkwad Cookie.

Day 10: Fortune

#Inktober #HumanArt #EatTheRich #LineaSketch

Time-lapse process for Day 10: Fortune. This one took 1/10th the amount of time to sketch and ink than yesterday’s Bounce did. Thankful for that! #Inktober #LineaSketch

“I will not risk my crew because you think you can dance on the edge of the Neutral Zone.”

Day 11: Wander 🖖

#Inktober #HumanArt #StarTrek #LowerDecks #TNG #LineaSketch

Time-lapse process for Day 11: Wander. This one came effortlessly, really. Knew exactly what I wanted to create and how I was going to draw it. 🖖 #Inktober #StarTrek #LineaSketch

Struggled with the expression but I think I got it in the end! 🌶️🔥🥵

Day 12: Spicey

#Inktober #HumanArt #LineaSketch

Time-lapse process for Day 12: Spicey. #Inktober #LineaSketch
The first 12 days of #Inktober. Hard to pick a favorite but it may be Day 2: Spiders or Day 9: Bounce. Onward we go! #LineaSketch

“Hell is empty and all the devils are here.”😈

Day 13: Rise

#Inktober #HumanArt #Spooky #Halloween #Fridaythe13th #LineaSketch

Pixel-clicking is my happy place.🥰

Day 14: Castle 🏰

#Inktober #HumanArt #Icon #PixelArt #LineaSketch

Time-lapse process for Day 14: Castle.

Yes, you can indeed create pixel art in #LineaSketch. Clearly I need to make a new video tutorial since everyone was surprised stuff like this is possible in Linea. 🤓 #Inktober #PixelArt

The brilliant Spy vs Spy strip by Cuban artist Antonio Prohías, was one of the reasons I adored Mad Magazine as a kid. Hope I did it justice! 🤓

Day 15: Dagger 🗡️💣

#Inktober #HumanArt #LineaSketch

Time-lapse process for Day 15: Dagger

It’s funny you can see just how much trouble I had sketching the Black Spy’s back hand / arm. The whole thing also didn’t feel right using smooth semi-circles for arms and legs. Then I put in bent angles and it started to feel right.

About 4 hours total for this one. 🫣

#Inktober #LineaSketch

“Listen, you guys are starting to confuse me so… begone. Or whatever it is you do.” 😇

Day 16: Angel

#Inktober #HumanArt #Kronk #LineaSketch

“He’s bound to lead you down the path of righteousness. I’m gonna lead you down the path that ROCKS!” 😈

Day 17: Demon

#Inktober #HumanArt #MastoArt #Kronk #LineaSketch

@gedeonm no, no, he’s got a point.
@gedeonm “That’ll work.” *POOF!*
@gedeonm LOVE KRONK 😍😍😍
@martynpie Saved the spinach puffs!!
@gedeonm Best of the bunch, so far!
@ashkendo Thanks! It’s my new favorite for sure. 💕
@gedeonm I loved those comics. My brother had a stack of old Mad Magazines that I went through time and time again. I still feel like that’s an (under) unexplored IP.
@gedeonm I love watching how this evolves! Also I just spent four days at New York Comic Con, saw lots of artists working on things, nobody, not one as impressive as the pictures we've seen you working on just this month!
@dldnh Wow, that means a lot to me, truly. Gonna go to sleep with a smile on my face. Thanks, Dave!
@gedeonm Sergio Aregones probably would be proud to know that someone is doing so faithful a job of carrying on his work.
@gedeonm Amazing. Like I’m reading mad magazine in the 80s!
@gedeonm LOVEly. Miss those days.
@gedeonm You certainly did yourself, and him, proud.
@gedeonm SO COOL! Loved playing Spy vs Spy II on my C64 as a kid. 😃
@gedeonm Gosh I used to love those so much. Nice work!
@gedeonm I am totally gonna abscond with that technique for one of the days—probably 17.
@gedeonm remember trying to make game graphics on 8x8 grid paper to write my own games on the TI-99/4a
@gedeonm Oooo hope to see the time-lapse of that one! Did you actually replicate a zip square dozens of times on a grid, or is there a shortcut?
@leebennett Oh god, no! Turn on the template grid of your choice, grab the fill tool and click in the *center* of grid spaces, not on the intersecting lines, to fill them. 😄
@gedeonm WHAT. IS. THIS. SORCERY‽‽‽
@gedeonm @leebennett I did *not* know you could do pixel art in Linea. This is so cool.
@csilverman @gedeonm @leebennett I wanted to ask the same question. Thanks! Awesome.
@csilverman @leebennett Yep! It can be a tad quirky sometimes but it’s pretty fun once you know how to do it. Clearly I need to make a new tutorial video…
@gedeonm Hmm. Can I fill a grid block with a different color without it filling the entire batch of already-colored blocks behind?
@leebennett No, but you can select an empty layer above, turn off the one below, fill a block on that one and then merge it down.
@gedeonm Ah. That should work. Thanks.
@gedeonm Boy we sure went opposite directions on today’s prompt, eh? LOL
@gedeonm My favorite so far 👏🏽
@Aday Aaaaw thanks!! Challenging but fun!
@gedeonm I can imagine! But I love that you keep a similar structure (kind of looking like a MacOS icon) but in different styles 👌🏽
damn. Why didn’t I think of this? My hat is off to you @gedeonm.
@wednesday Aaaw thanks! I LOVE your Toad. Man that’s sooooo good!
@gedeonm confession (if it wasn’t obvious): I did that one in my usual black ink on white paper and inverted the photo. But that was my plan from the start so I was trying to draw elements shadows & highlights in reverse. Good brain workout.
@gedeonm Can't wait to see #27 and #29.
@gedeonm As someone that only draws in one color in Linea, its really impressive to see what’s possible color-wise 🙌
@gedeonm Are these all app icons? 😍
@uliwitness I drew last year’s Inktober all as app icons but this year I’m giving myself more permission to break the borders and experiment as I go along. But yes, they are all envisioned as iOS App Icons basically.
