The Israeli government has cut off food, water, and fuel to 2 million people inside Gaza as part of its campaign to stamp out Hamas terrorism. Collective punishment is not only contrary to international law, it is inhumane and illogical. It is what my community once endured in World War II, all because of the actions of others who happened to share our ethnicity. Have we learned nothing? How will this possibly help deescalate the violence rather than radicalize many more? It is madness.
@georgetakei Israel need to stop all flow in and out of Gaza. Hamas is responsible for this. Ask yourself why you are not angry with Hamas that is doing this
@maffia @georgetakei Mr. Takei never said he wasn't "angry with Hamas." He has described the attack as an a atrocity and depraved. I don't understand why you'd try to mischaracterize his position.
@Breck @georgetakei the atrocity is a consequence of Hamas actions
@maffia @Breck @georgetakei Not at all. Hamas didn't make Israel do jackshit - that's victimblaming. Israel has been besieging and mostly blockading Gaza of its own volition. Palestinian shepherds in the West Bank have frail sheep now because of Israeli counterparts overgrazing and shooting. Both Israeli settlers and Palestine are nations with some immunity to smallpox (the way the Brits, French and Spanish depopulated North America during their gruesome efforts), so guns will have to do.
@lightning @Breck @georgetakei Israel have not besieged Gaza enough
@maffia @Breck @georgetakei Israel has not starved innocent civilians (the vast majority of gazans) enough, you say?
You are so depraved you make me look like an angel of light. (I'm *deliberately* a horrible person, so analyze the simile for a second.)
