From the late 80s-on, Fauci repeatedly kneecapped efforts to study ME/CFS at NIH. This has been extensively documented, c.f. the book "Osler's Web."

Now he's saying if he began his career over he'd study...ME/CFS.

It's great he's finally realized the huge opportunity here to help a large group of sick people.

Shame it took him until after retirement to figure it out.

I know this interview has been discussed a lot in #ChronicIllness communities but it's absolute Brooklyn chutzhpah for Fauci to claim he was intrigued by the patients he saw at NIH 40 years ago...when he then spent decades blocking efforts to help that group.
