Dear #Linux #Ubuntu users:

Are you aware of a #GUI application that can effectively scan, identify and recover *accidentally* deleted folders chock-full (hundreds) of images?

I've tried #RLinux and #RedoRescue, but no dice.

I appreciate any help provided.

🖖!

@jaze I never got the occasion of using them, but I know #Photorec and #ddrescue, but no GUI there unfortunately.

@fabienm @jaze I can confirm testdisk works very well in every one of my cases. Your mileage may vary.

@ademalsasa

I appreciate your response, also. I'll make some time to try #TestDisk, also. 🍀

@fabienm

Thanks for responding. I knew about #Photorec, but hadn't ventured into the seemingly complicated procedure to use it until today. I left it running and will see the results tomorrow. #PeaceOut!

@jaze not graphical, but foremost under Linux can recover even when partitions have been wiped out. Filenames are not the same 000001.jpg, etc, but it can sometimes recover from drives I haven't been able to use test disk on.

@chaslinux

#Thanks for the tip. I hadn't heard of #Foremost until now. Looks/sounds crunchy. I'll keep it in mind for the next data disaster. ✌️!

I use #photorec fairly frequently to recover deleted files for people.
