First, they came for reproductive rights, now it's no-fault divorce. The right's war on women in the US is relentless and ongoing.

There are COUNTLESS reasons to vote Dem and this is just one of many- How on Earth can you be a woman and support the GOP?

@dancinyogi
How does no fault divorce negatively affect women? I thought it was to help people get out of bad relationships including emotionally abused people.
@mcnulla @dancinyogi The GQP wants to get rid of no-fault, not support it. They want it to be harder for women to get out of those bad/abusive marriages.
@ColonelPanic @dancinyogi
Had no idea they wanted that but I’m not really surprised.
@mcnulla the *elimination* of no-fault divorce harms women.

@dancinyogi

It's so disheartening. We've been fighting for equality all of my lifetime and made some progress (though not enough)--and now are sliding back. πŸ˜” I'm so worried for my granddaughter.

@crcollins

A lot scares me, and I keep thinking about an interaction I had a few years ago back on the birdsite. It was with a young woman from Kentucky. I posted something about date rape and got into it with her because her attitude was, "If she was raped, she asked for it". She also argued that women were born to be subservient. This is a real woman, not a troll. She's in her 20s. Solid Trump supporter. That interaction haunts me.

@dancinyogi

Oh yeah. I've run into that type. Religion has a lot to do with it.

@dancinyogi well you could be like my mom and care way more about abortion than anything else, including your trans grandkid.
@lonerfanatic As I said, there are countless reasons to vote Dem, and this is just one of them.
@dancinyogi i think you misunderstood. My mom is an example of why a woman would vote for Nazis. I didn't say it was a good reason.
@lonerfanatic Oh, yes, now I understand. My bad.
@dancinyogi what news have I missed?
@acm_redfox Nothing new, just ongoing stuff. No-fault divorce is coming under attack in a lot of pockets throughout the country.

@dancinyogi
Here's a piece that traces where this latest attack on no fault divorce came from.

The Coming Attack on No-Fault Divorce Laws

No-fault divorce has improved the lives of millions. Now some extreme Republicans want to abandon it.
