I had a realization about my #SensoryIssues last night…

None of my #AuditoryTriggers exist in nature. They are all 100% caused by human technology.

🤔

Yet another reason for my biophilia?

@JeremyMallin @actuallyautistic Been thinking just this. It's the clatter of the maddening crowds that assault my senses. The natural world is always a symphony.

For me, humans are the problem.
I have no problems with machines, animals, weather (thunder can be annoying tho).

As long as it is more or less rhythmic. Or not too loud.

But sounds with intention (a car accelerating, talking, a group walking across a metal covering), that is absolutely annoying for me, since it may be "relevant" and is therefore not tagged as low priority information.

@wakame @JeremyMallin @actuallyautistic I often refer to humans as clatter monkeys.

Semi-related: A technical device that makes a sound (especially a loud one) is just wasting energy (compared to e.g. an animal moving).
This sound is a reminder that this device can still be improved.
