So basically the plot of Monster Hunter Now can be summed up like this: "Our world and your world are merging. There are monsters everywhere! Please hunt them before they destroy everything."

Meanwhile, the "monsters" just kind of chill out and don't do much of anything, until you provoke them. You can just walk past them without tapping anything, and everyone's fine.

Doesn't that make the player-character the real villain? I need to think on this.

@BrianTransplant that's kinda how every monster hunter game is though, you get told that the monsters are causing problems but they never *show* them causing problems
@BrianTransplant MH Rise is kinda the one exception because of the rampage quests that are explicitly you fending off monsters trying to destroy your hometown but every other game is just like "hey hunter, this fucked up dog is in the desert, when usually it hangs out in jungles. you should go kill it, probably"
