I’m slowly getting my head around Bluesky. There are quite of lot of people who used to be part of the #MadTwitter mental health community over there but I’m also networking with academics, clinicians and fellow PhD students
@purplepadma I’m seeing lots of people I’ve missed from the other place, and I’m getting more follows than here. But no one is talking to me. 🤷
@juneussell @purplepadma screw those guys!
@swisslet @purplepadma I know! It’s like trying to strike a match on a blancmange.
@juneussell @swisslet That’s disappointing. What are people there for if they don’t want to interact?
@purplepadma @swisslet 🤷To promote. To run a business. To gain a following. To ‘build a community’. That’s what they say they can’t get here.
@purplepadma @swisslet I’m on Threads too (I know, I know) and that’s fun.
@juneussell @swisslet I have just been made aware of Pebble but I can’t cope with yet another thing!
@purplepadma @swisslet lol yeah. Mastodon for serious and Threads for fun will do me, I think.
@juneussell @swisslet What makes Threads more fun?
@purplepadma @swisslet Ah, there’s loads of daft rapping, like in the early days of Twitter. I like that.
@purplepadma @swisslet It may not last, so I’m enjoying it in the moment.
@juneussell @swisslet It’ll be interesting to see what all these different platforms look like in a year’s time
@purplepadma @juneussell I do not miss the constant bad faith actors and the attempts to monetise me. Those reasons alone are enough for me to be here, I think.
I very much value the people I follow who boost loads of interesting stuff, and I include both of you in that category. It’s a nice change of emphasis to see people just promoting others because it’s interesting and fun.
