Ars Technica
@arstechnica #Google the 13th franchise going strong 🧟‍♂️🔪🩸
@arstechnica I liked Google Podcasts. I'm happy I didn't use it anymore or otherwise it would've been another loss after services like Allo and many more ...
Killed by Google

Killed by Google is the open source list of dead Google products, services, and devices. It serves as a tribute and memorial of beloved services and products killed by Google.

Killed by Google
@arstechnica do stuff and break things my shiny metal ass!
@arstechnica Well dodged a bullet here. When I swapped my phone recently I almost went with Google Podcasts but went back to my trusted favorite app Pocket Casts.
@arstechnica I kinda wish someone would kill Google

@arstechnica New in app purchases in Photos, relegating old tools like crop and resize no longer free with the app.

Also, endless nagging to turn on Google backups. And a new UI making it very difficult to find specific photos.

F-Droid to the rescue.

What did you find there to replace Photos

@LouiseTheCat Simple Gallery Pro.

Interface sucks like most FOSS, but it gets the job done.

@arstechnica I'm glad I moved all my stuff to Spotify when Google Play Music shut down!
@arstechnica what I find sad is Google Suite is the only real alternative to the MS365 hegemony of sadness and mediocrity. But they do their damnedest to actively destroy the offering.
