Should’ve done this ages ago #shortcuts #automation
Also: add STOP as a quick reply on Apple Watch
@timonus @rmondello Get in the NGPVAN, we’re going unsubscribing!

Nice. Like legit nice and truly useful.

And yet an example of Apple getting 80% feature complete:
Why can’t I use a RegExp in a single rule to cover all variations of Stop2End?
Why can’t I easily exclude numbers in my contacts?

@jswright61 @timonus @rmondello You could make the event word as basic as possible and then filter by sender or regex.
@timonus Good but doesn’t responding verify to less scrupulous senders that you exist and to sell you’re info to more spammers? I choose to never respond.
@KevinFreitas @timonus i had the same thought. this assumes they respect unsubscribe requests. isn’t it better to just block and report?
@timonus @bradfordc I definitely err on the side of give them no data.
@timonus I need this for Google Voice now
@timonus I'm always hesitant to reply to a lot of them, I don't want a lot of them to know it's a monitored phone number
@timonus I had reached a near breaking point with political spam messages today so gotta say thanks!

@timonus Been loving this. I expanded this into a longer guide as a gist with more screenshots for myself when adding more terms.

@squarism amazing!

@timonus So my question is, and coming from others too, should we be doing this?

Sometimes I send `STOP` and my carrier says something like "got it, blocking this number". Othertimes, I wonder if I'm confirming to the spammer I have eyeballs. What do you think?

@squarism I do not know, haven't thought about it that deeply
@timonus I've found a better setup with Bouncer and iOS 18, I'm sure you've seen it already.
@timonus @pixel That's awesome. I don't think you need to create the variable. I was able to choose Sender as a recipient without it.
