If I was Target, I would drop those prepaid gift cards like a bad habit until they figure out a mechanism whereby information gets added only at payment / activation time.

Public service announcement that Target sucks.

Just got scammed on a gift card I bought from their Cupertino store and they just put me on hold for 10
minutes and then told me that it’s the bank’s problem. They charged like a 10% premium and then tell me to go pound sand. It’s like a giant blinking ad for ApplePay and AppleCash.

Also those gift cards at the checkout aisle suck: they are likely to be scams and there’s nothing you can do about them.

Happy Ocho de Mayo everyone 🪅🎉
I legitimately think AI would do a better job these days at interviewing software engineers than people do and it makes me feel incredibly bad to say this.
Johannes Gutenberg: I've invented this printing press.
Printing press: You're out of magenta.
I don’t think people understand just how much code is about to be written. I’m not trying to be smug or provocative. I mean we are about to witness the dissolution of the concept of software.
The perfect movie review doesn’t….
hot take: cmake would not exist if *nix people (i am including myself in that set) collectively took portability of software seriously. no, i do not consider "i kept adding preprocessor statements until it ran on AIX and then relied on a mixture of fear and guilt for everyone else to not touch them for the next decade" serious

The only thing that helps me with my mental health (ADHD / Depression / anxiety / Cyclothymia) is hard exercise. It has to be like 170 BPM for 30-45 minutes. Three times a week at minimum.

It feels like better than the best meds, with no hangover (other than muscle soreness and sweaty clothes).

I know this doesn’t work for everyone but if you have ADHD, I recommend you give it a try. Rowing machine plus exercise bike plus running or especially trail running.

I have to make time for it and tell everyone who wants to interrupt my routine to fuck off. ❤️

Man, this January has sure been a rough one in terms of telling apart seasonal depression from regular depression... or just completely rational responses to the state of the world.
