The Cammo Stone, in the grounds of the old estate of the long-ruined Cammo House. The stone is hidden in a wooded part of the estate close to the site of the house, but is quite easy to find. It stands around 1.5m in height and has quite a brooding presence among the trees. At some point in the distant past, for purposes unknown, an iron hook has been fixed into the top part of the back of the stone…

@brianlavelle I've been to Cammo several times and was unaware the stone was there! I'll have to hunt it out.
@brianlavelle hitching post, i reckon - seen a row of hooks like that in the wall outside Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Darrara, Co. Cork (which has its own menhir)
