Traveling for work. I have the important things right?

@justanna Is a sparkly blue Sailor there? šŸ‘€

@Vidyala it iiiiiiis. It's my brand new baby. Goulet has Sailor's at 40% off so I indulged my spending money for ... uh. Awhile?

It's so good. I have Liberty's Elysium in it.

@justanna It’s really pretty! A most worthy indulgence 🄹

@Vidyala I am still sorting out writing with it. it's their EF nib, because I wanted a true EF.

It's just way flexier than I am used to! I really like it, but sometimes I use too much pressure and it is weird.

Zero regrets though.

@justanna Sailor nibs are so particular the way they are. I only have two and the one I reach for - is a Zoom nib. Because some people just want to watch the world burn. šŸ˜‚ My other is a Sailor MF and it’s so fine for me. They are beautiful nibs though!

@Vidyala ooh! What's a Zoom nib, precious?

And yeah, this nib has personality! It kind of feels like we're getting to know each other, if that makes sense.

@justanna yeah absolutely makes sense! A Zoom nib is a Sailor specialty nib that’s like - it changes depending on your pen angle? https://goldspot.com/blogs/magazine/writing-with-a-sailor-zoom-nib But mainly it’s a firehose. You can even flip it backwards to write really thin (but I don’t do this). This is mine!
Writing with a Sailor Zoom Nib

Sailor Pen of Japan hand-crafts a wide array of specialty fountain pen nibs. Only a small set, including standard writing points like fine, medium and broad, are distributed to the USA. Part of this core nib offering is the Zoom nib. Whereas the other writing nibs could be matched with a Western counterpart, the Zoom h

Goldspot Pens

@Vidyala Oh I love it! I will have to keep an eye out for one of those, because nibs like that are often ones I really like.

I also kind of want an architect nib I think it is? The one that's flat in one direction, but not an Italic?

@justanna I started out thinking I wanted EF-F and I was so wrong, now I only use mainly western M+ to B, and the culmination of that is definitely the Zoom haha. I don’t have an architect nib either but I’ve seen them, they look really cool! I’d love to try one sometime.

@Vidyala I have a bunch of M+ to B nibs on other pens, and I adore them for some inks, but I really like my SF Falcon, and my F Elite 95S in my planner on the Tomoe River paper. So I jumped at the chance to get a Sailor.

I think they all will have their place - I have a broad TWSBI in my pen case now too, with sparkly ink in it, because I realized I needed fun ink too.

@justanna Yeah! There’s no Right Pen, only what’s right for you/the time. I love that about them. My TWSBI stub is always loaded with shimmer ink and it makes my heart happy 🄰 (shimmer ink has been creeping into more and more pens, lol)

@Vidyala I go through phases with shimmer, but Diamine Jack Frost is *always* in my TWSBI Broad (that has the pretty blue cap, of course).

That ink makes my heart sing. And I always have a pen with Ruby Blues in it as well - I've seen a lot of blues with red shimmer, but that one is still my favorite.

@justanna Oh that’s cool, I see your ā€œtheme.ā€ My shimmer ink is ✨ Party Time ✨ haha

@Vidyala oh I love this.

Also I have to let you know that you are a terrible, terrible influence and I have a used Sailor Zoom nib that I bought on eBay this morning.

It's not my first pick of pen colors but.

I fell in love with how it writes for you. Pen enablement is never unwanted though. :D

@Vidyala what kind of inks do best in your Zoom?
@justanna Honestly, okay, Sailor has this big thing about how you can only use Sailor inks with the specially plated nibs and I didn't want to void the warranty so I only use Sailor inks in it. I like multi-shaders for it the best though. It has Sailor Nekoyanagi in it like.....90% of the time. Anything that benefits from really laying down a ton of ink!
@Vidyala ooh. Ok so I was thinking of an ink like Pilot Iroshizuku Fuyu-Syogun (a high shading grey). But I didn't know about Sailor and only using Sailor inks. I don't have many.
@justanna It’s only with the plated (black) nib! (Even with that, lots of people told me they ignore it, I was just worried if it ever had issues). If yours has a regular non-plated nib it’s all good. Any Iroshizuku ink would look A++ imo.

@Vidyala oh fabulous! I'm excited then. There's still two Sailor Manyo dual shading inks that I might have to try though...

You know. So they're perfect with this pen (which is a pale icy purple/pink)

@justanna uh 100% you should get every Manyo ink that you want. Fuck, I love those inks. Which ones do you have already? or which ones are you looking at?
@Vidyala these are the two, but I'm inclined towards the dual shading one on the left

@Vidyala uhhhhhhh

Oh no

@justanna ahah those are the four Manyo inks I have. I like them all tbh but Nekoyanagi is the one I use the most. Nadeshiko is fierce too. They’re all great.
@Vidyala Nekoyanagi is the one I keep going back to. I may just get that one? I dunno. The peach ink is so pretty too...
@justanna @Vidyala this is a dangerous conversation 🤣
@hestiah @justanna hahah join us.....
@Vidyala @justanna FYI, I ended up buying a new Sailor pen because of you two! Hahaha! ā™„ļø
@hestiah @Vidyala show pen? <peers> I would like to see the pretty shiny, at least when it arrives.
@justanna @Vidyala I will. It’s thr Sailor Sakura pen. The blue glitter pen with pink flowers. This one. 🤩
