To everybody who is going to bitch about how Apple is somehow ruining the world by releasing new phones tomorrow: give me a sneak peek and send me a link to where you did the same rant last time around about Samsung.

I’ll wait.

"Releasing new phones every year is wasteful consumerism!"

I KNOW! It's crazy how you literally can't do anything with any iPhone or Galaxy Swhatever except for the very latest one! And how there's no resale market and no children in anyone's family to hand old phones down to. There's nothing to do with a year-old phone except shred it and throw it in the ocean, right? What a pity.

@maxleibman I have no idea what you're talking about. My phones last 4 years, minimum. I religiously do the system updates, and they continue to work fine the entire time. I just replaced my four year old Google Pixel 4 and my work phone, a Samsung Galaxy 8 has been running like a champ since 2018. Both ran/run great the entire time. It's possible that you have a P.I.C.N.I.C. problem: Problem In Chair Not In Computer. Just because they release them, doesn't mean they need to be purchased.

@paulstgeorge I think you know exactly what I’m talking about—because I’m being sarcastic. 😉

I’m making fun of people who don’t recognize that the longevity of these devices has gone way up over the past decade. I am mocking the people who will criticize Apple today for the pace of new releases, who don’t realize that almost nobody upgrades every year anymore, and the few who do don’t just throw the old phones away.
