Follow your dreams, kid
@alexwild Alas, he would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling kids.

@alexwild

He would have succeeded if it hadn't been for those meddling kids!

@catselbow
I was coming here to say that. 😀
@alexwild
@alexwild Reminds me of a radio program talking about making life sized ghost decorations for Halloween. Hmm
@alexwild so much for freedom of speech.
@alexwild And what did those "witnesses" do, in the middle of the night, in Portsmouth cemetery…?
@katzenberger @alexwild Mushrooms, probably

@bruce @katzenberger @alexwild

That least explains how it came to pass that they complained someone said woooo.

@alexwild

Seriously, who reports something like this to the police? What is wrong with people?

@alexwild Surely I misread that, right? Anthony was given an award, not a fine… right??
@alexwild It’s a pity these complainers have nothing better to do. Poor do when a ghost can’t go to work.😦
@alexwild
Why am I reminded of Michael Richards as "the invisible man" on the original Night Court? https://youtu.be/dTSFOqZ8vYs?si=gm7-n6LQJtEblfae

@alexwild and he would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids and their Great Dane.
Man fined for pretending to be ghost in Portsmouth cemetery

Police spokesman says witnesses complained about Anthony Stallard 'throwing his arms in the air and saying woooooo'

The Guardian
@alexwild I grew up living next to a 14th century churchyard. We had a black Great Dane who could easily jump over the 5 foot wall to the cemetery. He liked to escape our garden and go howl the moon.
@alexwild I can't get over this Man fined for pretending to be a ghost in a cemetery, specifically "throwing his arms in the air and saying wooo." Gonna try it.😀
@alexwild What offence is "going woo"? Is it contrary to The Impersonation of Spectres Act 1789 ?

@alexwild

Despite repeated warnings, Albert continued to loiter outside public restrooms dressed as pestilence.

@alexwild that sounds like the most British thing XD that’s if it’s the British Portsmouth.
@alexwild ‘Live your best pre-afterlife’ worked out terribly for every post-agricultural society, and only ok for their ecosystems, maybe it’ll work out for post-industrial society.
@alexwild This name has a couple of finds while searching the web. A man of the same name and locale has appeared in the same court for assault by beating. If this is the same chap he's acting less harmless (to put kindly). Interesting.

@alexwild I'd give the fellow a beer and invite him to 'woooo' together at the nearest pub.
@alexwild I am laughing my ass off as I used to walk through that cemetery with my grandad.
@alexwild
Witnesses Dafney, Fred, Velma, and others warn that this is an increasingly common occurrence.

@alexwild

The world really needs to get a sense of humour!!!

How about the police worry about the white supremacist movement running around the country?

@alexwild @ebk maybe the woo was over the top.
@alexwild And he would've gotten away with it if wasn't for those meddling kids!

@alexwild

What law did he break? None I say. None.

@alexwild

....witnesses complained he went wooooo...

@alexwild the headline is fun and the thought of someone pretending to be a ghost in a graveyard is hilarious, but it's actually just case of drunken footballers being abusive and disrespectful

@nikcorg @alexwild Drunken mayhem is pretty much on-brand for Portsmouth tbh. Not much else to do there.
@alexwild This is the best thing I've seen today 💀
@alexwild If he went “whoooo whooo, I’m a train” would that have been OK? (asking for drunk men everywhere).
