QUESTIONS: THE SEQUEL
What would be the worst movie to have a sequel?
What would you call this terrible sequel?

@RickiTarr The Sixth Sense
Dead Already
Ha. I want that film to exist!

The films have been on a downward trajectory since RotJ. I'm glad that was made though, as it was the only one of the original trilogy I was old enough to see in the cinema.
@lotographia
My thoughts about the original Star Wars trilogy are pretty much the same as what I said about The Matrix. The original is a great standalone adventure film, but the overall story of the original trilogy makes it worth putting up with a bit of cringe in the second and third installments.
The Karate Kid is another franchise I feel the same way about.

> there's a whole bunch of movies I'm glad they never made a sequel to because they were perfect gems they way they were. Movies like... The Matrix
I agree the second and third films weren't as good as the original. But despite a few cringe moments, I really enjoyed the original trilogy as a complete story. They're kind of like Back to the Future in that respect.
That recent Matrix sequel though, #FacePalm.
@blueshiftnz
The only way I can make the recent Matrix knock-off OK is to pretend it's a parody. Like a Scary Movie or Spaceballs of late 90s cyberpunk/ virtual reality films (there were a *lot*).
Definitely doesn't exist, and they certainly didn't make a spin-off TV series!

I haven't rewatched this as an adult, but I remember loving it as a kid.
@RickiTarr Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull....
We just pretend that one doesn't exist.
@RickiTarr "Respected Comrade *Kim Jong Un* is a Great Thinker and Theoretician As Well"
(A sequel to "Respected Comrade *Kim Jong Il* is a Great Thinker and Theoretician")
