humans asking "are we alone?" on a planet literally teeming with conscious beings is maybe the funniest part. you look a crow in the eyes and say "gosh i wish a visitor from afar would give me Space Flu and show me that math is the same ten billion light years away" and the crow is right there thinking advanced thoughts, or the elephant, or the dolphin, or the fucking ant. modern humans have forgotten that civilization is a thing you do for each other -- that you can do regardless of species.
