It is fantastic to see old #EV batteries getting a second life as portable power sources.
Circular economics in action!

Nissan Starts Selling Portable Power Source With Old Leaf EV Batteries

By the looks of it, the unit has two high-power outputs, two USB-A and two USB-C outputs, a 12V socket, and what seems to be a solar power input.

@TomRaftery My older power tool batteries can still run electronics after their amps dwindle below high torque levels. Then the materials go back into the supply stream (I've been led to believe).

@TomRaftery I am adding a link to a related electronics circuit project I tripped over (pun intended) where someone designed a DC-DC converter to use one product line of batteries with a different product line of tools/appliances:

I wanted to go another way, and bring out from "dead" batteries a steady 12 volts DC into a classic #DinoJuice car cigarette lighter socket form factor plug (hereby freely bequeathed as an idea that has probably already been produced).

@TomRaftery #DinoJuice being my newly hatched hashtag for petroleum and byproducts.

@TomRaftery This story about batteries and inverters includes a helpful guide to cost per watt-hours in various tool form factors:

They use dollars as currency [edit: and reference 120 volt mains] but apples to apples; much more variation in region-specific brands and parts I think.

@TomRaftery I found a missing link. Yay!
