The leaves of my neighbor’s tree are falling all over my yard. Not because fall has come early but because the trees are dying. The drought in #Houston is so bad. 100 °F weather and no rain for weeks and weeks. The drying of expansive soils is causing the ground to move, wrecking foundations and breaking water pipes. And I’m out here looking like old Picard from TNG’s “The Inner Light”. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a sobering reminder of what we are heading towards. #StarTrek #ClimateChange
Update: IT RAINED TWICE! Proof that being dramatic about something on social media IS the answer.
Seize the time, @Kayla. Live now. Make now always the most precious time. Now will never come again.
@Kayla We are having problems here in western NC also. 200yo Sycamores have leaves all shriveled up and barely hanging on… to name one example. Granted, not as bad as where you are… but still painful to see.
@Kayla sorry Kayla, that sucks

@Kayla
I checked my weather app yesterday and it said we're in for five days of 100°F heat and the next three days would reach a high of 99°F.

The heat here in H-town is no joke these days. I worry the #ClimateShift has happened and this will be the new normal. 😬

@aBirdieOnaWire saaaaame. I keep saying, welcome to the coldest summer for the rest of our lives :(
