Thinking about buying a Leica
@briannawu Any reason why in particular?
@briannawu Consider a Fujichrome APS-C. Really nice glass.
@briannawu Arg. I meant Fujifilm, not Fujichrome. Somehow my brain switched back to the 1980s.

@briannawu Film or electric? Rangefinder or ?

(If I was going to go for electric rangefinder lyfe, I'd probably hunt for an Epson r-d1 and splurge on Leica glass.)

@briannawu Thinking about buying a Leica is as far as I’ve ever got. 😂
@briannawu therein lies the path to madness.
@briannawu I vacillate back and forth between wanting a Q, and an M.
@briannawu what say you @mrbwa1? Should Ms. Wu buy a #Leica?! 🤨

@ZeKik @briannawu I am the worst person to talk to about Leicas. I’m much to cheap.

There are the finest of craftsmanship, but I just don’t need that: I like a well built tool that gets the job done

@mrbwa1 @ZeKik @briannawu I have two: a Barnack-style purchased from KEH that needs a CLA, and an amazing gift from my fabulous wife.

I agree with Brian, though. Almost all of my cameras are thrift shop finds, local auction steals, or eBay gambles. The two cameras on my desk right now are a Leica M5 and a Zenit B, and I think I'm shooting with the Zenit this weekend.

@ZeKik @briannawu @mrbwa1 But, to answer the original question (which wasn't asked of me, OMG, am I reply guy!?), I would say yes:

...and I would take Hamish's perspective one step further: you really need a screw-mount rangefinder and you need a screw-mount SLR. The rangefinder doesn't have to be a Leica, and you can mount LTM lenses on an M Leica, but there's an endless amount of relatively cheap fun in the world of screw-mount lenses.

@briannawu nice! I got in when they were ‘cheaper’ hahah.
@briannawu *IMO* you won't regret it.📷
@briannawu They go well with Porsches! Q, M, or other?
@briannawu Been there multiple times, but then also a nice Full frame DSLR with a bunch of lovely glasses OR a Sony A1 with a fixed 50m prime…. Choices....
@briannawu Do you ever visit the Boston Leica store and just drool?
